About This Spot

Foundry On Elm unfolds as a lively and spirited neighborhood destination nestled in the heart of Somerville’s Davis Square. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a buzz of conversation and clinking glasses that feels just right—not overwhelming, but full of energy. The space hums with a warm, unpretentious vibe, where the pace invites both relaxed afternoons and spirited evenings spent with friends or a casual catch-up.

The atmosphere blends the best of a bustling beer hall with the approachable charm of a gastropub, creating a sense of belonging that draws a varied crowd. Whether you’re perched at the bar savoring a thoughtfully crafted espresso martini or settled in at a corner table enjoying the steady flow of lively chatter, there’s a comforting rhythm here—the kind that makes you want to linger.

The menu is a natural extension of this welcoming ambiance, offering thoughtfully prepared dishes that feel familiar yet elevated. Rich, hearty fare like a perfectly grilled burger or a plate of crisp, golden fries anchors the meal, while unexpected touches in the kitchen add character—think tender pork belly eggs Benedict or fresh oysters with just the right citrusy lift. Drinks are given equal attention, with inventive cocktails and a curated beer flight that invite exploration and easy conversation.

While the buzz can grow especially lively on busy nights, the friendly service and neighborhood charm make the din feel like part of the experience rather than a distraction. Outdoor seating provides a nice option when the weather’s fair, though the pulse of Elm Street lends a city soundtrack that keeps the energy moving. For those who appreciate a well-balanced blend of spirited atmosphere and genuine comfort, Foundry On Elm offers a place to enjoy both good food and the simple pleasure of human connection.

The food was decent, poutine was filling, reservation recommended on Sunday around noon. Can be noisy when full.

Delicious food! We got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was so good. The burger was very tasty and well cooked for a medium rare. We also enjoyed our drinks and the maple buffalo wings. The drinks were pricey but not surprising for Davis square. Outdoor seating is comfortable but a little loud with the traffic. Overall we recommend it!

Food: Bread & Butter (warm demi baguette, whipped honey butter); Maple Buffalo Chicken Wings; Grilled Cheese and Tomato Basil Soup (smoked gouda & cheddar, smoked honey drizzle, griddled sourdough). Ambiance: Lively Parking: Street parking is available nearby Pricing: Somewhat pricey Food (flavors): The Bread was super soft and the honey butter combo was a perfect blend of sweet and fatty flavors. The maple buffalo chicken wings were really saucy and delicious! Although they were more spicy than sweet. They definitely had some kick to them so if you do not like spicy food I wouldn't get them. The grilled cheese and soup were phenomenal. The tomato soup was super rich and flavorful. The soup brought savory flavor and the grilled cheese brought sweet and fatty flavors. The cheese combination in the sandwich was great. The dish overall was packed with flavor. Portion size: Large Drinks: N/A

Came for dinner with a group of friends and we all loved what we got. The burger was so juicy and flavorful and the fries were seriously some of the best fries I've ever had. The caesar salad, poutine, and chicken sando were enjoyed as well. Highly recommend the buzz if you enjoy a warm, spicy, cidery cocktail. Excited to come back another time!

The service was perfect, not too chatty but not too avoidant either. Great drink selection, and their apps are fantastic. We got the poutine and a dozen oysters ($1 each on Mondays!). The oysters were great, some a tad sandy but thats to be expected. For entrees we got the bolognese and the grilled cheese with tomato soup, with both the soup and bolognese being very salty (the soup very difficult to eat alone). The grilled cheese was great and made the soup tolerable when dipped. Overall it was a great experience, and we will definitely be going back, just choosing some different dishes.

Came for brunch. Lovely staff, food, drinks, and atmosphere. The shaken espresso is tasty and very strong! Great poach on the eggs.

Cute brunch spot near Davis Square, good for a date, a family breakfast, or for a quick stop at the bar. We got the farmhouse breakfast since we were craving a protein heavy meal. We all finished our meals - it was just right in terms of portions. The beignets were also warm, fresh, and fluffy. They came with a delicious chocolate dipping sauce.
